Skills programmes are expanding
Government-backed initiatives announced in late 2025 included Code4AI, designed to train thousands of people in programming and AI-related skills, and a Prime Minister's Cloud Program for Startups intended to reduce infrastructure barriers through cloud support.
The missing layer: secure-by-design capability
Software, AI and cloud skills create economic opportunity, but they should be paired with secure engineering, privacy, threat modelling, identity security, cloud governance and incident response.
What a national cyber talent pipeline needs
- Entry-level pathways for students and career changers.
- Hands-on cyber labs, CTFs and blue-team exercises.
- Industry-informed university curricula.
- Internships and apprenticeship models.
- Leadership pathways for GRC, architecture and CISO roles.
- Startup support for Pakistani security products and services.
This is one reason CSP's Future Cyber Leaders, University Network, Startup Zone and Cyber Defence Arena should be treated as strategic programmes—not just event features.
